Marge Simpson's Future Death Revealed, Marries Ringo Starr

PNC _ Thursday, 26-06-2025

After more than three decades of laughter, blue hair, and pork chops, The Simpsons shocked its loyal audience during the Season 36 finale with the sudden reveal of Marge Simpson’s death. Titled “Estranger Things,” the finale aired on May 18 and took viewers 35 years into the future, offering an emotional glimpse into the lives of the Simpson family—without their iconic matriarch.

This unexpected turn sparked widespread reaction across social media platforms. Longtime viewers were left questioning whether Marge Simpson, voiced by Julie Kavner since 1989, had officially been written off the show. However, the truth is more nuanced than a simple "yes" or "no."

How Did Marge Simpson Die in The Simpsons Season 36?

The finale does not show Marge’s death in real time. Instead, it introduces her passing through a futuristic lens, where Bart, Lisa, and Maggie are now all grown up. Lisa has become the commissioner of the NBA, Bart is still a goofball but now runs an unlicensed old-age home where Homer lives, and Maggie’s life is left a bit more ambiguous. The flash-forward timeline serves to explore the fallout from Marge’s death and how her children, now estranged, must come back together.

The emotional crux of the episode is found in a touching letter Marge left for her children, which Lisa discovers. In the letter, Marge warns them not to drift apart and to always be there for one another—a heartfelt plea that becomes the catalyst for Bart and Lisa’s reconciliation. The emotional climax sees the siblings reunited, watching The Itchy & Scratchy Show—the very program that once bonded them in childhood.

Her tombstone simply reads, “Beloved wife, mother, pork-chop seasoner.” Homer, now a teary-eyed elderly man, is seen grieving at her funeral.

Marge Simpson Marries Ringo Starr in Heaven—A Surreal Twist

In true Simpsons fashion, the emotional weight of Marge’s death is balanced with absurd humor. The finale takes a wild and hilarious detour when it reveals that Marge has remarried—none other than Beatles drummer Ringo Starr—in the afterlife.

In a surreal scene, Ringo appears behind Marge and says, “Love, we’ll be late for the Heaven buffet. There’s a shrimp tower.” Marge replies with a kiss, “I’m just so glad that we’re allowed to marry different people in Heaven.”

The moment took the internet by storm, combining grief with laughter in classic Simpsons style. While the scene was bizarre, it served as the kind of offbeat humor fans have come to expect from the long-running series.

Is Marge Really Dead? The Answer Isn’t So Simple

Although the Season 36 finale showed Marge’s funeral, it’s important to note that this was a flash-forward episode. These types of episodes—much like previous ones that have depicted future versions of the Simpsons—are typically considered non-canon. They explore hypothetical scenarios without impacting the show’s main continuity.

This means Marge’s “death” won’t affect the upcoming seasons. In fact, the show has already been renewed through Season 40, which is set to air in the 2028–2029 TV cycle. Fans can expect Marge to continue appearing in the present-day timeline of the show.

This isn’t the first time a major character has "died" in a forward-looking storyline. Season 35 also hinted at Homer’s death in a similar way. However, unlike permanent deaths in The Simpsons—such as Maude Flanders or Bleeding Gums Murphy—these flash-forward demises don’t have lasting implications.

Why Marge’s Death Hit Fans So Hard

While Homer’s reckless lifestyle often makes him the likelier candidate to die first, Marge has always represented the emotional and moral heart of the Simpson family. Seeing her go first was a jarring twist, amplified by the episode’s melancholy tone and a Sarah McLachlan song with the lyric: “Marge passed before Homer, if you can believe it.”

The idea that Homer would outlive Marge seemed implausible and even ironic. This stark role reversal might be what made the episode feel particularly impactful to long-term viewers.

Where Can Fans Watch The Simpsons Season 36?

While Seasons 1 through 35 of The Simpsons are currently available for streaming on Disney+, Season 36 is exclusively available on Hulu. This includes the controversial “Estranger Things” episode.

Conclusion: A Powerful but Playful Farewell—That Isn’t Real

The Season 36 finale of The Simpsons stirred up emotions and controversy with the apparent death of Marge Simpson. While it provided a beautiful, albeit fictional, farewell to a beloved character, fans can rest easy knowing it doesn't affect the actual continuity. Marge Simpson lives on in the series’ current timeline—and with four more seasons to come, she’s not going anywhere just yet.

And yes, she’ll be seasoning pork chops and scolding Homer for years to come.

Brad Pitt’s F1 Movie Drives With Star-Studded Soundtrack

PNC _ Thursday, 26-06-2025

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt is set to make waves this week with the global release of F1: The Movie, a high-octane drama that blends the thrills of Formula One with real-world racing action and a star-studded music album. Shot at iconic racing venues like Silverstone, Rockingham, and Abu Dhabi, the film features Pitt in the role of Sonny Hayes, a veteran driver making a dramatic return to the F1 circuit.

Speaking about filming at the legendary Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire—often hailed as the "home of the British Grand Prix"—Pitt described the experience as "humbling" and said, "We were on hallowed ground." The production even had a fully operational garage integrated into the real F1 pit lane during the 2023 and 2024 race weekends, underlining the film's commitment to authenticity.

Real Racing, Real Stars, Real Stakes

Directed by Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, F1: The Movie promises intense realism, aided by real-time filming at active Grand Prix events. The director acknowledged the challenges of coordinating with the strict F1 schedule, saying, "Usually when we’re making a movie, we are in control of our own schedule. But here, we had to adapt to the F1 calendar."

The film stars Damson Idris as rising racing talent Joshua Pearce and also features major F1 figures like Lewis Hamilton—who serves as a producer—as well as appearances from Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, and Tobias Menzies round out the stellar cast.

Adding even more authenticity, the production recruited actual pit lane professionals like Rob Jaina, who portrayed himself as a pit lane incident officer. Reflecting on the surreal experience, Jaina said, "It was a bit of a strange experience but fantastic."

Soundtrack Revival: Ed Sheeran Headlines F1: The Album

If the adrenaline of racecars isn’t enough, F1: The Movie comes with its own cultural horsepower—F1: The Album, a soundtrack featuring some of the biggest names in music. Ed Sheeran leads the charge with his new track “Drive,” a high-energy collaboration produced by John Mayer and Blake Slatkin. The track also features legendary musicians including Foo Fighters’ drummer Dave Grohl, bassist Pino Palladino, and keyboardist Rami Jaffee.

F1: The Album includes a dynamic artist lineup: Doja Cat, Rosé, Burna Boy, RAYE, Tate McRae, Myke Towers, Chris Stapleton, and Roddy Ricch. The album blends genres and star power, evoking the golden era of blockbuster soundtracks from the 1990s and early 2000s. The return of music compilations designed to match a film's energy—both digitally and in physical formats like colored vinyl—is reigniting fan nostalgia and box office buzz alike.

Music industry observers believe albums like these are more than marketing gimmicks—they set the tone for immersive movie experiences. As streaming dominates, long-format, star-powered soundtracks are also regaining their charm by doubling as collectible merch, delivering exclusives like Rihanna's return on the Smurfs Movie Soundtrack and Ed Sheeran's Drive.

Ed Sheeran Charms Indian Fans Again

As part of the film's promotional blitz, Sheeran will also appear on The Great Indian Kapil Show, set to stream June 28 on Netflix. The singer-songwriter, beloved globally, will delight audiences once again by singing in Hindi and sharing laughs with host Kapil Sharma.

With F1: The Movie set to release globally on June 27, and the accompanying album already generating buzz, this cinematic and musical juggernaut is racing toward box office and chart success. Whether you’re a Formula One fan, a cinephile, or a music enthusiast, Brad Pitt’s latest film promises to be a full-throttle entertainment experience.

Denis Villeneuve Directs Bond, Future 007 Still Unconfirmed

PNC _ Thursday, 26-06-2025

The world’s most famous spy is headed into visionary hands. Denis Villeneuve, the Oscar-nominated director behind Dune, Blade Runner 2049, and Arrival, has officially been announced as the director of the next James Bond film. The news comes courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios, marking the first major creative move since the studio took control of the iconic franchise earlier this year from long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.

Villeneuve, known for his cinematic mastery, will also serve as executive producer—making him the first Bond director to do so. The appointment signals a bold new direction for the nearly 70-year-old franchise and sets the stage for what could be its most artistically ambitious chapter yet.

A Lifelong Bond Fan with a Gritty Vision

In an emotional statement, the French-Canadian filmmaker revealed his deep connection to the Bond legacy:

"I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr No with Sean Connery. I'm a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he's sacred territory."

Villeneuve also acknowledged the magnitude of the task at hand:

"I intend to honour the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come."

His signature style—moody visuals, layered character studies, and immersive tension—is expected to steer the Bond series further toward the grounded realism seen in Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale rather than the more playful tone of the Roger Moore era. Known for crafting stories about morally conflicted loners and emotionally isolated protagonists, Villeneuve’s Bond will likely delve deeper into psychological nuance while delivering high-impact action with a restrained, cinematic flair.

Industry Buzz and Fan Reactions: A “Cultural Moment” for 007

Ajay Chowdhury, spokesperson for the James Bond International Fan Club and co-author of Darker Than the Sun: An Atlas of James Bond Movie Locations, hailed the decision as "the most artistically significant development" in the series’ future.

"It is testimony to the cultural weight of the Bond series that a director of such critical and commercial weight has chosen and been chosen to take the reins."

Chowdhury emphasized Villeneuve’s versatility and visual storytelling skills, adding:

"This is testimony to his status as a helmer with final cut and his position in the cinematic landscape as one the top practitioners of the craft."

No Bond Yet: Speculation Rages Over Next 007 Actor

While the announcement electrified Bond enthusiasts, one question remains unanswered—who will be the next 007?

Daniel Craig’s departure after 2021’s No Time to Die left a high-profile vacancy that has sparked endless speculation. Villeneuve and Amazon have not yet revealed any casting decisions, signaling that the vision and screenplay will likely be finalized before casting begins.

Chowdhury believes the next Bond must possess the “Goldilocks amount of fame”—not too established, not too unknown.

"Names like Callum Turner, Joe Alwyn, Jack Lowden spring to mind."

Other rumored contenders include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Norton, and Irish actor Paul Mescal. Whoever is chosen, Chowdhury notes, must be “young enough to believably sustain the franchise into the next decade,” while also being ambitious, marketable, and versatile enough to front global campaigns, video games, and potential TV spin-offs.

Production Timeline Unclear: Villeneuve’s Busy Slate May Delay Bond

Despite the buzz, production is not expected to begin immediately. Villeneuve is currently preparing to shoot Dune Messiah, the third installment in his epic sci-fi franchise, with a tentative release window in 2026. He is also attached to multiple other projects including Nuclear War: A Scenario, a modern retelling of Cleopatra, and an adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s Rendezvous with Rama.

In a previous interview with Vanity Fair, Villeneuve admitted,

“I have too many things right now.”

That means Bond fans may have to wait a little longer before seeing 007 return to the big screen. However, with Villeneuve at the helm, the next film promises a bold creative reinvention worthy of the franchise's global prestige.
